For those who were able to join us at the 2018 RECS, we appreciate your participation. We hope you enjoyed the sessions and had opportunities to exchange ideas with fellow attendees.
More than 1,000 participants attended the conference in-person and remotely, and the productive discussions would not have been possible without your participation.
We look forward to seeing you at the next RECS in 2020.

If you missed the Emerging Scholars Poster Session, it's not too late. At the 2018 RECS, OPRE hosted the very first RECS Facebook Live event. Hear from three RECS Emerging Scholars about their work in this video on the OPRE Facebook page.

It's not too late to get copies of the presentations
|
Do you want to obtain copies of the presentations or the Mobile App? For copies of presentations, send an email to recs@impaqint.com indicating which presentation(s) you are requesting. Additionally, many of the presentations have been uploaded to the RECS mobile app. In order to access presentations on the app, click on a session and scroll to the bottom of the page to the Handout section.
If you have not downloaded the app, find it in the App Store or Google Play by searching for “RECS Conference” on your mobile device. For more information about the RECS App, including tips on how to use the tools in the App, go to the conference website. The app will be available through September 30, 2018.

Implementation and Early Impacts of the Year Up Program
OPRE released a new report showing large and positive early impacts of the Year Up Program. Year Up is a national program for urban young adults aged 18-24 that provides training in the IT and financial services sectors. Their "high support, high expectations" model provides extensive services and sets high standards for professional behavior. The evaluation of Year Up's core program found it is effective, with consistently large and positive effects on earnings, increasing average quarterly earnings by $1,895 (53%). Year Up is one of nine career pathways programs being evaluated in the PACE study sponsored by OPRE.

Impact Findings from HPOG 1.0
Short-term impact findings for the first round of Health Profession Opportunity Grants (HPOG) are now available. HPOG, which provides education and training to low-income individuals for occupations in the healthcare field, had positive impacts on educational progress and employment in the healthcare field, among other outcomes.

Announcement: Location of the 2019 NAWRS Conference
|
RECS in 2020 may feel far away, but fear not – NAWRS is on the horizon. At the 2018 RECS the National Association of Welfare Research and Statistics (NAWRS) announced the location for the upcoming NAWRS conference (scheduled for July 28-31 st, 2019): New Orleans! For more information about the 2019 conference and 2018 virtual workshops, visit the NAWRS website.
